Obasanjo Didn't Win South-East In 1999; It Was Falae Who Won – James Ezike

A lawyer, James C. Ezike, has revealed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo did not defeat the Presidential Candidate under the joint platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) and All Peoples Party (APP), Olu Falae, in the South-East during the 1999 Presidential election; as he maintained that the election was rigged.

The lawyer had said, “Obasanjo didn’t win the South-East in 1999; it was Falae who won, but Falae did not have polling agents in the South-East.”

James Ezike, who spoke during an interview on The Morning Show, an Arise Television programme, insisted that the February 25, 2023 Presidential election was not transparent. It was after he made the claim that he recounted how Falae regretted that he did not challenge Obasanjo at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal when it was announced that the former President won in the South-East. He maintained that the election was rigged in rural areas of the South-East where Falae had no polling agents, and insisted that the 2023 Presidential election was also rigged.

James Ezike expressed surprise that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal maintained that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), should be treated as a State. He insisted that if the FCT was a State, it should have a House of Assembly and should produce three Senators at the National Assembly.
