I believe strongly that Adamu did not voluntarily resign- Former APC legal adviser, Muiz Banire

Following the announcement of the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), a former national legal adviser of the party, Dr Muiz Banire has said that he believes strongly that the former national chairman did not voluntarily resign.

When asked on Central TV what was it in particular that made it so difficult for Adamu to stay as chairman?

He said, “From what I know is that the leadership style of Senator Adamu cannot endure because if it is dictatorial nature. Secondly, there is also the allegations of the misappropriation of funds and the mismanagement of resources of the party. That’s another issue.

So by the time you compound that with the other two, certainly it’s either he voluntarily resigned or ultimately he would have been removed. I even believe and I suspect strongly that it’s not a voluntary resignation. I think it’s just an honourable way of buying out before the needful will be done by the NWC or the party ultimately.”
