Why Nigerians need to support Tinubu govt – Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to back President Bola Tinubu’ s administration. In light of the nation’ s current situation, Shettima emphasised the value of unity, regardless of political, religious, tribal, or sectional differences.

When the 10th House of Representatives leadership, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the vice president made the appeal, Daily Post reported.

Shettima declared, ” The President is determined to redefine the meaning and concept of modern leadership, ” pleading with the House of Representatives to support the Tinubu administration’ s plans. From the very beginning, he was operating at full capacity.

“The President has demonstrated his skill, ability, and dedication. I implore you, Mr. Speaker, and the esteemed House leadership to assist the President in achieving his lofty goals of changing this country.

Because what unites us is stronger than what divides us, the state of affairs in our nation demands that we unite as a single force, regardless of our differences in political or religious beliefs, tribal or sectional backgrounds”.

He expressed his support for the legislature, highlighting his shared history with President Tinubu as a former National Assembly member, and gave the delegation his word that they would find amicable ways to collaborate for the good of the country.

Shettima praised the new principal officers of the House of Representatives for their leadership qualities and urged them to work together under the Speaker’ s direction, highlighting the shift from politics to governance and the necessity of tackling the main issues confronting the nation as a unified force.

In response, the Speaker expressed his willingness to work with the Vice President on issues that serve the interests of the Nigerian people, while also assuring him of the support of the House for all federal government programmes and policies.

Deputy Speaker Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Majority Leader Hon. Halims Abdullahi, Chief Whip Hon. Bello Kumo, Deputy Chief Whip Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, Minority Leader Hon. Kingsley Chinda, Deputy Minority Leader Hon. Aliyu Madaki, Minority Whip Hon. Ali Isah, and Deputy Minority Whip Hon. George Ozodinobi were all part of the delegation that accompanied the Speaker
