Cabinet Formation: I Don't Think 45 Ministers is Even Enough- APC Chieftain, Aliyu Audu

A member, media strategy subcommittee, APC presidential transition council, Aliyu Audu has said the number ministers appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not enough. Audu who used Tinubu’s creation of more local governments in Lagos to justify his argument said considering the size of our population, more people needed to be appointed to take governance closer to the people.

When asked: Don’t you think appointing 45 ministers is a burden of sought for a country that is dire straits, that is looking at reviving the economy?

He said, “Again this is why track record is very important in public governance. I don’t think 45 is even enough, I don’t think 48 is enough. We have a population of over 200 million people, we are in crisis so to say. Let us remember that when he became the Governor of Lagos State, he felt they need to take governance closer to the people, he demanded more local governments. A lot of people thought he was taking it too far but look at how Lagos has moved in 24 years and how every other states have moved in 24 years. I’m not talking about potentials, I’m not talking about what they used to be before. I’m talking about shared growth between then and now.”
