Tribunal: PDP Acting National Chairman Rejects Presidential Election Tribunal's Judgement

The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umar Damagum, has stated that PDP does not accept the judgement of the Presidential Election Tribunal which took place yesterday.

Damagum said that the long awaited judgement of the presidential election tribunal left lovers of democracy in and outside the shores of Nigeria more confused and perplexed.

Damagum went on to say that the judgement has made many people to ask questions whether the Constitution, Electoral Act, and other laws guiding the conduct of credible election in Nigeria is still functional.

Damagum claimed that the expression of hopelessness and despair has been visible on people’s faces ever since the judgement of the tribunal was made.

Damagum claimed that both laws and facts were visibly thrown overboard by the judgement of the tribunal. However, Umar Damagum revealed that despite the cost and inconvenience attached to seeking redress in the Supreme Court, PDP intends to take the case all the way to Supreme Court because what is at stake is bigger than personal gains.
