"Gov Adeleke Told Us To Support The Nomination Of Fmr. Governor Oyetola As Minister" – Osun Senator

In the mid hours of today, when the 10th Nigerian senate was screening former governor Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola, a Senator from Osun state, Olalere Oyewunmi, revealed the reaction of governor Ademola Adeleke towards the nomination of his predecessor.

The Osun Senator said, “after former governor Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola was nominated as minister by the president, we, the three senators representing Osun state in this chamber, met with governor Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke and he told us to totally support Oyetola’s nomination as minister.”

On hearing this, the senate president said, “I think this is really something good for our nation’s politics. When opposition members don’t see themselves as oppositions but after the interest of the country.”

In addition, senator Godswill Obot Akpabio said, “I can see that Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola is not here alone. He came with some members of our party. This really shows his people are behind him.”

Recall that when Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola lost the last gubernatorial election in Osun state to former senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, he filed a case but the latter was eventually pronounced the true winner of the election by the court.
