Gani Adams Replies Simon Ekpa After He Said Igbos in Lagos Should Get Ready For Sit-at-home Protest

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams has cautioned Simon Ekpa, the factional leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), for saying Igbos living in Lagos State should prepare for sit-at-home protest, currently being enforced in the South East.

According to Nigeria Tribune, Simon Ekpa, in a tweet, said Igbos in Lagos state should get ready as he plans to carry out a sit-at-home protest in Lagos State, to push for the release of detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from the Federal Government.

While responding to Simon Ekpa’s recent statement, Gani Adams, during a phone interview with Nigerian Tribune advised Ekpa to abandon plans to stage sit-at-home protest in Lagos State, adding that he cannot impose an agenda on the South West.

Aare Ona Kakanfo reiterated that South West is not part of Biafra and Ekpa should not cause unnecessary tension in the region because it won’t be tolerated.

Gani Adams said, “I can’t go to the South East now and say I want to decide for the people of that region. So, it is not possible to import South-East agenda into Yorubaland. It would be counterproductive. We advise him (Ekpa) to drop that idea. They are entitled to their opinion, but South West is not their Biafran region. He should be very, very careful.”

“He should not come and impose his own agenda on the South West. It is uncalled-for, it is unwarranted. Although I don’t know him and I have not spoken to him, he should not bring unnecessary tension to Yorubaland. We will not accept that,” he added.

What’s your take on this?
