I Am Not Surprised That This Happened-FFK Says As Military Junta Takes Over Govt In Gabon

The former Director of New Media sub-committee of the defunct All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council and former Minister of Ation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted after military junta takes over government in Gabon early Wednesday morning.

Senior Gabonese military officers appeared on national television to announce that they have taken power.

The group of 12 officers made the announcement shortly after Gabon’s election body reported early on Wednesday morning that President Ali Bongo had won a third term in office.

Reacting to the development, Femi Fani-Kayode said on his verified Facebook page; “BREAKING NEWS: Sadly another coup has taken place in Africa. This time it is in the nation of Gabon where President Ali Bongo (pictured below), who together with his late father Alhaj Bongo, had been in power for the last 53 years has been toppled and removed from office.”

The former Minister of Ation added; “It appears that the warning I gave in my last essay, titled ‘Does Killing Nigerien Babies Bring Glory To Our Name?’, was prophetic. I am not surprised that this has happened and frankly we should expect more coups in the Francophone countries of West and Central Africa for the reasons I stated in that essay. I wonder whether ECOWAS or the African Union will threaten to invade Gabon as well? (FFK)”

The recent statement by Femi Fani-Kayode on his verified Facebook page has generated a lot of reactions from his fans and numerous followers on the social media platform.
