Gabon: What The AU Are Calling A Coup, Ordinary People Call It A Revolution, That's How They See It- Dr. Constance Ikokwu

Dr. Constance Ikokwu, an Arise TV analyst has come out to say that for citizens of Gabon, the coup is seen as more of a revolution for the country than anything else.

According to Dr. Ikokwu who appeared in an interview on Arise TV, some Gabonese think it’s a historic time for their country and one that have to take advantage of.

In her own words as seen on Arise TV this morning…

“When you talk to the ordinary people, they say they are not feeling any bad effects of the coup. So what the African Union or government calls a coup, ordinary people call it a revolution, that’s the way they are seeing it. I ask them why do they see this as a revolution and they said that this is the only tool that they have to change a government that has been in power since forever. Like everyone has rightly noted, for more than 50 years, one family ruled the country and they also said if the military government doesn’t work out, they still have to take their chances. Some also think it’s a historic time for their country so there’s many opinion on the coup.”
