PDP Wins All 18 LGAs In Edo Council Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won in all 18 Local Government Areas in the Edo State local government election held on Saturday, according to results released by the state independent electoral commission.

The election was held in all the 18 local government areas of the state covering Edo North, Edo Central and Edo South senatorial districts.

Apart from the PDP, other major political parties that participated in the election for Chairmanship and Councillorship of all the wards include the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP).

UNICAL Students Flee Campus

Many University of Calabar students reportedly fled the campus following attacks by masked gunmen on the Malabor Republic hostels on Saturday night.

Many reportedly left on Sunday as they feared the gunmen would return.

The armed invasion happened around 9 p.m. on Friday and lasted over 30 minutes without campus security intervention.

Ganduje hints of APC’s plan to take over Rivers

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has sent a signal of extinction to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State as the party is set to take over the reigns of the oil-rich state.

Ganduje sent the signal when he hosted the leadership of Senator Magnus Abe’s group in his office at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.

Forewarning the ruling party in the state of the impending doom, the former Kano State governor said that with the agreement of the three major blocks of the APC in the state coming together, the ruling party in the state would soon be on the way out.

According to the APC chairman, “We have now come to the end of the problem in APC Rivers State, as the three major blocks have now come to work together to build APC that we know in Rivers State.

Former Deputy President of the Senate and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has charged the chairman-nominee of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Chiedu Ebie, to embark on visible projects.

Omo-Agege said such are the works President Bola Tinubu would like to see, adding that the narrative and perception of the NDDC must change to that of an agency that truly meets the needs of the Niger Delta region.

He spoke when Ebie and Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya, one-time Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, paid him a ‘thank you’ visit Friday, in Abuja, a statement by his media adviser, Sunny Areh, disclosed.
