FG wants to eradicate poverty for 133 million Nigerians – Betta Edu

Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alletion, has revealed that the Federal Government of Nigeria is fully committed to solving the challenges facing the poor citizens of Nigeria.

According to the Vanguard, in a meeting with agency heads in Abuja, she emphasized the importance of various interventions and initiatives in reducing poverty rates across the nation.

Since she was appointed minister, she has made it her priority to ensure transparency and accountability throughout her tenure. “Our main focus remains on eradicating poverty for 133 million Nigerians,” she declared.

“We will approach this monumental task step by step, with unwavering determination and resilience. With the resolute support of President Bola Tinubu and every member of the cabinet, we will minimize political distractions and concentrate on the core responsibilities of governance.”

Every available resource would be mobilized to combat the grievous issue of poverty in Nigeria. Various sources revealed that our population stands at approximately 200 million, if not more,” she stated.

“Shockingly, these sources indicate that 136 million Nigerians are living in extreme poverty, and this is simply unacceptable. We owe it to our fellow citizens to restore hope and happiness to their lives. We must prioritize the underserved and ensure that our efforts are genuine, transparent, and accountable.”
