EPL: He’s Aubameyang Times 20 – Groves Kicks Against Morgan’s Suggestion Arsenal Should Sign Ronaldo

Perry Groves

Former Arsenal forward, Perry Groves, has kicked against British veteran journalist Piers Morgan’s suggestion that the Gunners should look to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.

Ronaldo’s future at Man United is currently unclear after his latest bombshell interview with Morgan, where he criticized the Red Devils and also said he doesn’t respect their manager Erik ten Hag.

Morgan, a die-hard Arsenal fan, suggested that the North London club should sign Ronaldo to increase their stranglehold on the Premier League title race, adding that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and Gabriel Jesus would lead the Emirates club to glory.

However, Groves has now laughed off Morgan’s suggestion while comparing the 37-year-old to former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Recall that Aubameyang left Arsenal in January and joined Barcelona on a free transfer following a fallout with manager Mikel Arteta.

Speaking with talkSPORT, Groves said of Morgan’s comments: “It is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard because Ronaldo is Aubameyang x20.”

He added, “The philosophy that Mikel Arteta has put into this bunch of Arsenal players is no egos, humbleness, you all work hard for the team, it’s about the team. You think, oh no, let’s go and put the biggest ego on the planet and let’s go and disrupt all that.”
