Ministerial Screening: I’ve Given Up Hope Of Becoming A Minister- Keyamo

Former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN), on Monday, hailed President Bola Tinubu for nominating him, noting that he had lost hope of becoming a minister after the first batch of the ministerial nominees was submitted.

He said he had already packed his luggage and was about going on vacation with his family before he heard of his appointment.

He disclosed this during his screening at the Senate, presided over by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje has disclosed why Shetty Maryam was dropped from the ministerial list.

Ganduje explained that Shetty was dripped because President Bola Tinubu had no idea how her name appeared on the list.

The APC National Chairman also disclosed that Kano State needed to nominate a minister with integrity and experience.

Ministry Offers Ibeju-Lekki Residents Free Legal Counsel

The Lagos State Government has extended its joint free legal clinic to residents of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of the state.

The Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Mrs Titilayo Shitta-Bey-Jeje, who spoke at the opening ceremony of the legal clinic at the weekend, said the gesture was to strengthen the administration of justice in the state by promoting the rights of citizens and ensuring that residents have unfettered access to justice.

Capital Express Assurance Pays N2.7bn Claims

Capital Express Assurance Limited paid N2.7bn claims to its policyholders at the end of December 2022 financial period.

The Chairman of the company, Otunba Babatunde Adenuga, disclosed this during its 22nd annual general meeting in Lagos on Friday.

The figure declined from N3.54bn claims paid in the corresponding period of 2021.

“This showed the results of our improved underwriting skills,” the chairman said.
