"Do not let someone you did not elect as a leader to determine how you live your lives- Gov. Mbah

In a live broadcast captured by Channels Television, Governor Mbah of Enugu State addressed the recent sit-at-home orders issued by Simon Ekpa, a member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) residing in Finland. The governor emphasized that the people should not allow someone who was not elected or given their mandate to dictate their daily activities.

The sit-at-home order by Ekpa has caused unrest and significant economic losses in the South Eastern parts of Nigeria, as people refrain from engaging in their usual economic activities. Governor Mbah, speaking as an elected leader, expressed his concern and reassured the people that measures would be put in place to ensure their freedom of movement.

He emphasized that security agents would be deployed to guarantee the safety of citizens and to encourage them to resume their daily routines. The governor stressed the importance of not allowing external influences to disrupt the socioeconomic activities of the region, highlighting that decisions affecting the lives of the people should be made through legitimate democratic processes.

Governor Mbah’s statement serves as a call to action for South Easterners to disregard the sit-at-home order and regain control over their daily lives. By asserting the authority of elected leaders and ensuring the provision of security, the governor aims to restore normalcy and promote economic growth in the region.
