Crediting the legislators accounts are done closely, Akpabio mistakenly pressed the alarm- Shehu Sani

In a viral video that circulated the social media on Wednesday, the Nigerian Senate President, Godswill Akpabio declared that senators had received money through the National Assembly clerk to enjoy their holidays. Before the motion for adjournment was made, Akpabio notified his colleagues of the financial arrangement and mentioned that the National Assembly clerk had sent money to each of their personal accounts as they prepare to go for holidays.

Reacting to the development on his Twitter handle, a former member of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Shehu Sani expressed his concerns about the announcement of the disbursement of moneys to the senators during its open session.

Senator Sani said that disbursing money to the account of lawmakers are done closely, however, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio mistakenly made the arrangement public.

Senator Sani said, “Crediting the Legislators accounts are done under mute button,the Uncommon Senate President mistakenly pressed the alarm.”
