PEPT:I have my eyes on the Nigerian Judiciary, and delighted to see other citizens do too – Oby

On August 18, human rights advocate and former Minister of Education, Madam Oby Ezekwesili, shared her keen observations of the ongoing activities within the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal through her verified Twitter account. She expressed her satisfaction with the collective focus of citizens directed toward the judiciary.

Ezekwesili, who previously held the position of Minister of Education during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, emphasized the significance of the widely embraced slogan “All Eyes On The Judiciary.” She elucidated that this increased attention on judicial proceedings is one of the most positive developments for the country’s legal system in recent times.

In her tweet, Ezekwesili conveyed that similar to the judiciary, the other two branches of government—the Executive and the Legislature—require citizens to continuously demand transparency and accountability in fulfilling their constitutional duties.

She wrote, “I am actively monitoring the Nigerian Judiciary and am pleased to witness many other citizens doing the same. The widespread focus on the judiciary, as encapsulated by ‘All Eyes On The Judiciary,’ stands out as one of the most commendable recent advancements for this crucial arm of government.”
