Northern leaders may work against you if rerun is declared – Ohanaeze tells Tinubu

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a prominent Igbo sociocultural organization, has issued a cautionary message to President Bola Tinubu as the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal gets ready to reveal its decision regarding the 2023 election. They have warned that in the event of a rerun being ordered by the tribunal, there is a possibility that Northern leaders may oppose Tinubu.

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Factional Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, has expressed that Northern leaders are discontented with President Tinubu’s leadership style and his choice of appointments. Isiguzoro emphasized that the Northern leadership has concerns and is closely watching the tribunal’s verdict on September 16th, 2023, to determine their course of action.

Additionally, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has asserted that the Northern leadership thwarted President Tinubu’s planned Ecowas invasion of the Niger Republic through the involvement of Northern Senators, Traditional Rulers, and Elder statesmen who are dissatisfied with the President’s approach to governance and his appointments in the Southwest.

In conclusion, they have indicated that they are considering various options, and if a Presidential Rerun election becomes necessary, the North may choose to oppose Tinubu.
