BREAKING: Back Tinubu’s Mission In Niger, Okupe To Nigerians

Doyin Okupe, a prominent figure within the Labour Party, has called for unity among Nigerians, urging them to set aside political party differences and support President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to restore democracy in neighboring Niger. This comes in the wake of the military coup in Niger, which ousted President Mohammed Bazoum.

Okupe took to his official X account to express his views, emphasizing that the degradation of Nigeria’s presidency by Niger should be condemned by all citizens. He pointed out that although he is not advocating for military conflict, Nigeria should not allow itself to be disrespected by its neighbor.

Tinubu had dispatched an envoy to Niger in an attempt to persuade the junta to reinstate democracy in the country. Okupe stressed the importance of protecting the integrity of Nigeria’s sovereignty, regardless of who holds the presidential position. He highlighted the need for unity among Nigerians and their political leaders during times of international conflict.

According to Okupe, President Tinubu’s efforts to promote democracy in West Africa deserve commendation, as this has long been a cornerstone of Nigeria’s foreign policy. He called on Nigerians to rebuke and condemn any actions that undermine the Nigerian presidency, especially from countries that Nigeria has supported economically and otherwise.

In essence, Okupe urged Nigerians to stand together in defense of their nation’s honor and sovereignty, and to support President Tinubu’s mission to uphold democratic values in the region, despite the challenges being faced.
