Segun Sowunmi Expresses Concerns Over Regional Imbalance in President Tinubu's Appointments

In an exclusive interview with Seun Okinbaloye of Channels Television, Segun Sowunmi, a People’s Democratic Party member, said that he is not impressed with the kind of team that the president is putting together.

The politician said, “I have looked at the people he is putting together, and I am a little bit uncomfortable with the fact that, if I am being honest with you, both of us are Yoruba’s men, and it is beginning to seem that our people are going to get the best of the cherries. I can tell you the things we have gotten already and the things that we are likely to get.”

When Seun asked what those were, he said, “Common man, we are in charge of customs, police, army, CBN, IRS, taxation, and appropriation.

He continued, saying, “I am beginning to see a pattern that all of the cream is coming to us, and what we will not accept from Buhari, who was even fairer to us than he was to his people, is that we must be brave enough to say this is not the right way to go, even for us. He asked Seun, saying, Does it not prick your soul that ten, nine, seven, and six are in one place and you are given the South East five?

He said, “I can tell you for free that there is no mental capacity, validation, authentication, or education that you are looking for in the world that you will not find in the Ndi Igbos either in Nigeria or in the Diaspora, so why are you now starting to tell me that you can get ten from the North West, nine from the South West, and you are telling me that from there?”
