'I Know One Of PDP's Lawyers Who Wants To Be Attorney General If Atiku Is Declared Winner' -Wike

The former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, indirectly suggested that lawyers representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) might not be offering sound legal advice. He also revealed knowledge of a PDP lawyer aspiring to become the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice if the Supreme Court declares Atiku Abubakar the winner of the February 25, 2023 Presidential election.

Wike made these remarks during an interview in a video (8:13) with Channels Television. He shared his concerns about the counsel provided by some lawyers in the PDP camp, particularly the one with ambitions for the role of Attorney General if Atiku wins the case. Wike criticized those who have been pressuring judges to rule in favor of their candidate, emphasizing that if they don’t trust the Judiciary, there’s no point in pursuing Supreme Court action.

Wike concluded by suggesting that Atiku and Peter Obi should collaborate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to contribute to Nigeria’s reconstruction.
