Atiku, Obi absent as Tribunal delivers judgment

According to Daily Post, Former Vice President Abubakar Atiku and his counterpart from the Labour Party, Peter Obi, were noticeably not present at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal as it prepared to announce its verdict.

The absence of prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was conspicuous, except Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who was the only notable PDP figure in attendance. On the other hand, the Labour Party was represented by Julius Abure, the national chairman of the party.

As for the reasons behind Atiku and Obi’s absence, immediate clarification could not be obtained as Mr. Paul Ibe, Atiku’s media director, did not respond to multiple phone calls made to him.

At the time of this report, the Tribunal, presided over by Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani, had arrived to deliver judgments on the three petitions. Justice Tsammani issued an order for the judgment regarding Peter Obi and the Labour Party’s petition to be delivered first.
