Anybody against the subsidy removal is not fair to Nigerians and their welfare – Amb. Frank Ogbuewu

A former ambassador to Greece and former minister of culture and tourism, Ambassador Frank Nchita Ogbuewu has alleged that anybody who is against the subsidy removal is not fair to Nigerians and their welfare.

According to the report from Sun paper, Ambassador Frank Nchita Ogbuewu said this while reacting to the question asked about how he would react to the issue of subsidy removal and its harsh effect on Nigerians.

He said, “Anybody against the subsidy removal is not fair to Nigerians and their welfare. Nigerians have actually suffered in the hands of the foreigners. I stand by the position of fuel removal because it is in the best interest of Nigerians. Yes, one can say that they did not plan for it in terms of putting the needed measures before the removal, but the truth is that the previous government left without any inclusion of it in the budget because it was expected to end by June. So, after that June what would have happened? The president did what he is supposed to do, a hard decision to take, but he must take it if you want to guarantee the future”.
