Anti-homosexuality Law: World Bank Stops New Public Finance To Uganda.

According to Daily Post, the World Bank has declared the suspension of new funds to Uganda over the enactment of the anti-homosexuality law.

It is very important to recall that the Uganda government had recently enacted and anti-gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender law.

However the law includes a life imprisonment and death penalties against those found guilty of violating the law.

According to Daily Post, a statement shared on Tuesday Twitter, World Bank noted that the law enacted by the Uganda government, contradicts its values as it aims to protect gender and sexual minorities from exclusion in all the projects it funds.

According to Daily Post Nigeria, that World Bank stated that after reviewing their portfolio in the context of the new law, no new Public financing to Uganda will be presented to their board of executive directors, adding that their goal is to protect sexual minorities and discrimination.
