Stop victimising perceived enemies, PDP members tell Adeleke

A group of stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has called on the governor, Ademola Adeleke, to stop victimising some members of the party he perceived to be enemies.

It emphasized that such an attitude would not help the administration or the party and encouraged the governor to stop marginalizing particular members.

This information was provided in a statement that the organization released following a one-day conference that took place in Osogbo on Sunday.

A chieftain of the party in the state, Prince Dotun Babayemi, was commended for his selflessness and contributions to the state and party in the communique signed by the former acting chairmen of the PDP in Osun, Mr. Ojo Williams, Mr. Tunde Adewoyin, Ogungboyega, Remi Arogundade, and three others.

The statement went on to say, “At this time, we believe that what is best for the state is for our governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to shun politics and provide good governance for everyone in Osun State. He should also put an end to the state’s persistent victimization and marginalization of some PDP members.

It may not bode well for the administration and party in the long run if such unpleasant developments that are currently permeating the party are not stopped.

The stakeholders urged ongoing public mobilization to increase PDP membership, saying that doing so would strengthen the party’s hold on the state and prepare it for future election contests.

Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson, could not be reached for comment.

Calls to his line did not connect, and as of the time this report was filed, he had not replied to the text message that was sent to him.
