Court declares Machina APC yobe senatorial candidate, reject Lawan’s offer
Ahmad Lawan, the Senate President, lost hope of re-election to the Senate after the Federal High Court in Damaturu, Yobe State, on Wednesday ordered the APC and INEC to recognize Bashir Machina as the rightful winner.

Both Lawan and Akpabio ran for the position of APC chairman. But after they won, APC entered both of them as senatorial candidates, but INEC refused to accept them.
After he did not win in the presidential election of APC, Lawan, Akpabio and Ebonyi state, Dave Umahi decided to choose the Senate ticket for Yobe North, Ebonyi South and Akwa Ibom North West senate, respectively. The APC was ordered to identify Machina as the party’s legitimately elected candidate and submit his name to the INEC.
