Shehu Sani reacts to the report that Obi, Atiku and Kwankwaso are planning to merge to defeat Tinubu

Former Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has shared his thoughts about a recent report. The report revealed that three politicians, namely Peter Obi from the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), are considering joining forces to defeat Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress.

According to a report published on This Day paper, Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and Kwankwaso had met to discuss a potential collaboration. Their goal is to create a partnership strong enough to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), especially if the election petition results in a need for a new election.

Also, according to a source who spoke to the media, the three politicians have already had productive meetings. They are now waiting for the election tribunal’s decision before making their next move. The discussions began between Kwankwaso and Atiku, who then decided to include Peter Obi in their plans. While they haven’t decided on a leader for the opposition yet, they’re saving that decision for after the court cases. Once the court cases are settled, they intend to either unite for another election or collaborate in preparation for the 2027 elections. They are considering the possibility of forming a strong political party by combining the forces of the PDP, Labour Party, and NNPP.

Reacting to the report, Shehu Sani expressed his approval of the opposition parties’ potential merger. He believes that this unity among opposition parties can contribute positively to Nigeria’s democratic system. In a tweet from his official Twitter account, he commented, “The speculation that the opposition are planning to unite is good for democracy; now they are studying geography after the earthquake.”
