LP Chieftain, Akin Osuntokun Reacts To Senator Akpabio’s Clip On Sending Token To Senators.

The Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Akin Osuntokun, has reacted to a recent viral video where the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio informed his colleagues that “a token has been sent to their various bank accounts.”

While reacting, Mr Akin Osuntokun made it known that elected officials should priorities the public’s interest and demonstrate responsible stewardship of taxpayers funds. He went on and made it known that the credibility of the senate and its members can only be upheld through actions that align with the principles of good governance, honesty and accountability.

Mr Osuntokun made this disclosure in a tweet he made on his twitter handle on Thursday afternoon, after sharing the video where the senate president, Godswill Akpabio, was seen addressing the senate.

He wrote: “Elected officials should prioritize the public’s interests and demonstrate responsible stewardship of taxpayers funds. The credibility of the senate and its members can only be upheld through actions that align with the principles of good governance, honesty and accountability.”

It should be recalled that a certain video recently went viral on social media platforms, and on the video, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, was seen informing other Senators that a token has been sent to their various bank accounts, so as to enable them enjoy their holidays.

Since the video went viral, many people have been criticising the senate and just today, the Socio-Economic Right Accountability Project, SERAP, threatened to sue the Senate President, for sharing tax payers money, the time that millions of Nigerians are suffering.
