Peter Obi, Atiku And Kwankwaso Begin Discussion To Form Possible Merger To Challenge APC And Tinubu

It has been reported that Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate Mr. Peter Obi, People’s Democratic Party Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar, and New Nigeria People’s Party Presidential Candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso are in talks about forming a merger to create a powerful party that can effectively challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sources told This Day newspaper that these three political leaders have been meeting for some time. Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the NNPP presidential contender, reportedly opened the meeting.

A second round of discussions between Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi and key figures in the PDP began to take form after the first round was deemed productive. This Day said that the talks between the three persons were in their early stages.

According to reports, the three leaders have decided to hold off on making a final call until the outcome of the election petitions currently before the courts.

According to the sources, these politicians are still holding out hope that the tribunal would order a new vote, at which point they plan to form a coalition to run against Tinubu and the APC as a united front.

According to This Day paper, sources have revealed that the three leaders are considering forming a powerful party in front of the 2027 general election in order to wrest control of the government away from the incumbent All Progressives Congress, APC.
