C Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski aimed a sly dig at Ballon d’or organizers France Football ahead of the 2022 ceremony which is set to take place on Monday, October 17 in Paris.

The 34-year old is yet to forget 2020 which everyone was describing as his year to win the Ballond ‘or.

However, Ballon d’or organizer decided not to cancel the award in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Last year, many were expecting France Football to award two Ballon d’ors, so that Lewandowski can be rewarede for his incredible 2019/20 season.

But all the then-Bayern Munich goal getter received was a newly-created “Top scorer” award.

His disappointment is huge and knowing that he’ll probably not win the award this year, Lewy who votes for Karim Benzema sent a joke which France Football would not like.

“He’s probably one of the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or, of course if they don’t cancel it, then probably he’s going to win this Ballon d’Or, yeah” he said
