'You Are Not Expected To See N1 Of The N52B Unless You Are A Beneficiary' — Akpabio Tells Keyamo

Senator Godswill Akpabio, Senate President, has claimed that ministerial candidate Festus Keyamo will not receive the previous administration’s allocation of a certain 1 naira out of 52 billion naira per person. He said this during a ministerial presentation in the Senate with Festus Keyamo. Festus Keyamo alleged that the so-called N52 billion was transferred to the CBN.

He said, “I think what the Senate heard was your excuse. Whether you saw the naira or not, the Senate didn’t hear it, Because if the money goes into someone’s account, the members of the Senate don’t have the password to that account to see if the money has gone there.”

Regardless, there is continuity of government and the Senate still has the power to step back and find out what happened. Only when we investigate will we know if all the N50B went to the right recipient. As a minister, unless you are a beneficiary, you will not see 1 naira for N52B.”
