Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has stated that he is unconcerned about important actors jockeying for the APC’ s presidential ticket in 2023.
The Kogi governor, whose state is beset by insecurity and civil servants wailing over months of unpaid salaries, added that he was not frightened of Bola Tinubu, the ex- Lagos governor, because his status as a founding member of the APC would not give him an advantage.
Despite being a founding member of the ruling party, Bello said he was not frightened of APC national leader Bola Tinubu, while responding to a question at the second GYB annual seminar in Abuja on Saturday.
” To answer your question, whether I am scared of other presidential candidates, ” he replied. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and others were mentioned. No, I’ m not afraid of anyone in the race for the APC presidential nomination.
” Though Tinubu and others were among the APC’ s founding members, the foundation is insufficient. I will defeat all of the other contenders because I possess all of the necessary qualities to be a champion. ” I’ ll let my performance in Kogi State speak for itself. ”
According to the governor, all evidence point to him as the strongest candidate for the APC to win the presidential election in 2023.
Bello expressed confidence in his ability to be the party’ s candidate, noting that he had over 16 million Nigerians register their PVCs in Yahaya Bello support organizations in order to elect him.
Tinubu, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, and Senator Orji Kalu, a former governor of Abia, were among the front- runners in the race for the president in 2023.
