Hope not lost, the best is yet to come – Maryam Shetty

A member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Maryam Shetty, whose ministerial nomination was withdrawn by President Bola Tinubu said hopes have not been lost and the best is yet to come.

Shetty said this in a statement posted on her verified Facebook page on Saturday.

Atiku, PDP Govs Set To Commence Meeting In Abuja

Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party and the party’s Presidential Candidate in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, are set to commence a meeting at the Bauchi State Lodge in Abuja.

The meeting is a follow-up to a similar one held at the residence of former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Party chieftain, Chief Tom Ikimi, last Saturday.

Although the agenda for the meeting is still shrouded in secrecy, it was learnt that the state of the nation and the party will form the major plank of discussions.

So far, Governor Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Kefas Agbu (Taraba), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), and Sheriff Oborevwori (Edo) have arrived.

Three Hospitalized As Violence Rocks Lagos Ports

Truckers and Carriers Association of Nigeria, TACAN, and Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, MWUN, are singing discordant tunes over alleged extortion and attack that left three persons hospitalized with severe injuries at Lagos Ports.

While TACAN blamed MWUN members for the attack, MWUN insisted its members had nothing to do with the attack, saying “the attack was a result of an electioneering campaign by the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA that was disrupted by some hoodlums.”

Speaking, a member of the Board of Trustees of TACAN, Mr Rasaq Babatunde said that drivers and truck owners were attacked and injured because they refused to be extorted by MWUN.

Adeleke Begins Osun Business Growth Initiative

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has kick-started the Osun State Business Growth Initiative through strategic partnerships with federal and international organisations and agencies.

A release by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed stated that the Governor in Abuja in the last two days directed the hosting of two top-flight meetings to address business Growth and industrial foundation for the state in line with his commitment to transform Osun from a civil service state to a business and industrial state.
