However, some people still go on to kill or leave their babies in dustbins to die. Sometimes it’s because they feel scared that nurses will judge them if they give up a baby for adoption. Recently, there is a story of a mother who abandoned her baby in the bushes because her husband had tried to give her up for adoption so many times, but the process kept on delaying. According to the reports, the infant was found by a man collecting mangoes at the base of an embankment near a stream and a soccer field. At the time of the finding, the area had a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. Next to the infant was a bag with diapers, a milk bottle, and a pacifier. Also discovered was a note in English that was possibly written by the mother.
It tried to explain that she got in touch with social workers two times but was let down by the system. The author further claimed that because abortion is no longer safe and hospitals have rigorous regulations, it is not an option. This incident occurred in Dawncrest, Kwazulu Natal. Just by reading the note, you can tell that the mother was frustrated, but at least she was thoughtful and did not abandon the baby to die. In my opinion, this mother did the right thing, but she took a risk by leaving her in a place where the sun was hot. She could have left her in a hospital or somewhere in a public space where someone could easily see the baby.
To all the mothers who are struggling with their babies, please stop killing them then and just give them up for adoption. If the process is taking too long, leave the child in a public space where there are people. A child is a blessing from God and must be taken care of.
