Following days after president Muhammad Buhari’s commission infrastructures in Imo state, the indigenous peoples Of Biafra (IPOB), have pushed on to stop the usual sit-at-home order by the group.
The development adopted by the group has brought the economic growth of the region to its knees as various banks, shops, and other companies and organizations remain closed every Monday of the week.
However, following pressure from stakeholders, the organization abolished its law, asserting that the order would now only be examined when their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is appearing in the court to proceed with his case.
Nevertheless, with all the suspension, some alleged criminals altered as IPOBs in the Southeast have proceeded to carry out and force the sit-at-home order by assaulting and assassinating violators.
It was also reported by DAILY POST that some pupils partaking in the ongoing (2021 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE), were assaulted on Monday, in Imo state for not obeying the sit-at-home order by participating in their examination.
However, while reacting to these criminal activities, IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful on Tuesday, declared anyone caught enforcing the order henceforth, would be punished.
According to his words, he stated, “I am happy you said it yourself that we canceled the Monday sit-at-home. We all said it in the beginning, but we stopped it, we have told people to stop sitting at home on Mondays.”
“Anyone forcing people to sit-at-home on Mondays, or doing anything to them because they are not sitting at home on Mondays, if IPOB gets such people, no matter who the person is, we will cut off his ears”, he vowed
