WIKE WAS A YOUNG BOY WHEN WE FOUNDED THE PDP; HE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO UNSEAT ME, SAID PDP CHAIRMAN AYU

Senator Lyiocha Ayu, the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike and supporters of the governor who are clamoring for his resignation “noisy youngsters” who weren’t around when he and other party leaders toiled to build the party.

Even if Atiku had come from Benue State, according to Ayu, the call for his resignation would not have been appropriate, he claimed in an interview in Kaduna that was recorded by media…….Continue Reading

He argued that he ran for national chairman and was elected to a four-year term, adding that he hasn’t even been in that position for a year and already someone is demanding for his resignation.

He asserted, “I ran for office, won the election, and am now organizing the party; I have not stolen anything, I have not broken any laws, and we will not permit one individual to enter and ruin the party for us with pointless calls and demands.

“The clamor for my resignation is uncalled for. I was elected PDP chairman for a four-year term, and I have not yet served one year of that term. Even if Abubakar Atiku is the PDP’s Benue state representative, my election as national chairman cannot be impacted by his victory because I ran for office and received Nigerians’ votes.

He responded, “All that he is doing does not affect me since I know I am fixing the party, am performing my work diligently, and have not done any transgression,” when asked in further detail about the criteria of Wike’s camp’s desire for his resignation, among other conditions.

This is our country, so all that is expected of us is to fix the country, provide security, and provide dividends of democracy when we take over the government in 2023. “I have not stolen any money, so there is no reason for my resignation. When we started the PDP all those ones were children, they were not there.”
