Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory( FCT), has prohibited friends and well-wishers from congratulating him on his appointment as minister.
He claimed that such congratulatory messages on his appointment as Minister in lamppost billboards, full-scale billboardings and other similar advertisements are serious distractions that could cause him to lose focus on the FCT’s primary task.
While the Minister deeply appreciates the warm wishes and support of the citizens, he kindly but strongly requests that such billboards and advertisements be discontinued immediately, according to a statement signed by Anthony Ogunleye, the director of press for the FCT, asking the public to refrain from erecting congratulatory banners in his honor.
The Honourable Minister, according to the statement, “knows the sentiment behind these congratulatory displays and is genuinely touched by the show of support,” and he” accounts for the overwhelming outpouring of goodwill from the citizens of the Federal Capital Territory and beyond. “
However, the Minister wants to concentrate all of his efforts on helping His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR realize his vision and Renewed Hope agenda for Nigeria in the spirit of public service and commitment to his responsibilities.
