Kenneth Okonkwo Reacts After Tinubu Defeated Peter Obi At The Election Tribunal

Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent member of the Labour Party and a former participant in the defunct Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, has expressed his views regarding the verdict delivered by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja.

The Labour Party had previously voiced its dissatisfaction with the tribunal’s decision, which favored President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Independent National Electoral Commission had earlier confirmed that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, emerged victorious in the presidential election, defeating strong contenders such as Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP.

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, had challenged Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja. However, the court dismissed their petitions yesterday.

In response to these developments, Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent figure in both Nollywood and the legal field, took to his verified Twitter account to express his concerns. He stated, “The PEPC judgement is inherently contradictory and illogical and, if allowed to stand, will undermine the very purpose the Electoral Act of 2022 was designed to achieve. This judgment threatens to take us back to the pre-1999 election era when manual collation was a significant challenge in our elections.”

It’s worth noting that Okonkwo’s tweet on his verified Twitter page has sparked considerable reactions from his fans and a multitude of followers on the social media platform.
