The 2019 Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi is on the shortlist for the 2021 award, which includes 29 other players.

Paris Saint-German striker Lionel Messi has won six Ballon d’Or, and he is expected to probably win the honor again this year. In addition to the Copa America and Golden Boot awards, he has had a stellar season with 40 goals and 14 assists.

Robert Lewandoski and Lionel Messi are probably the two best players competing for the prize, but Messi appears to be in a better position than Lewandowski because of his achievements with Argentina and winning the Copa America with his country.

As a 34-year-old, Lionel Messi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain may be his last time this prestigious award as he approaches the end of his career. In light of his 38 goals in 47 club games and Copa América’s success in 2021, there is a notion that he deserves the last Ballon d’Or before he hangs up his boots.
