Why is someone like Tinubu in the Presidential Villa? – Chief Chuks Muoma (SAN)

In an interview with THE SUN, Chief Chuks Muoma (SAN), former Legal Adviser of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, expressed his desire for Nigeria’s success and raised questions about older individuals, like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeking presidential roles in a country with pressing issues. At 82 years of age, Muoma questioned the wisdom of someone his age pursuing a presidential position and highlighted the need for younger leaders.

Muoma emphasized that active presidents are constantly engaged, contrasting this with the demands of the role. He questioned whether Tinubu is prepared for such demands and criticized those who always refer to President Joe Biden of the United States of America, without acknowledging that the United States has a cleaner society than ours.

He criticized the selfishness and greed of politicians who refuse to step aside as they age, leading to negative consequences for the nation. Muoma also criticized Tinubu’s campaign slogan, “Emilokan,” arguing that it implied a prearranged election and questioned whether the presidency should be considered a divine right.

Furthermore, Muoma criticized former President Muhammadu Buhari over his democratic rule in Nigeria after previously serving as a Military Head of State. He stated that he was waiting to see if the former Nigerian leader would go to Niger or Cameroon to rule them.
