We Were Surprised When The Respected Judges Claimed The election Was Free From Errors – Ibrahim Abdullahi

The recent ruling by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal upholding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election shocked and saddened Ibrahim Abdullahi, the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) deputy national publicity secretary.

According to Abdullahi, it would have been more reasonable for the tribunal judges to declare the election illegitimate and demand a new one in an interview with Arise TV.

He emphasized that the parties had presented a strong body of evidence to challenge the validity of the election. Abdullahi believes that the election ought to have been ruled unlawful and a new one ordered to more effectively address the issues raised throughout the legal processes. His comments reveal the PDP’s anger with the tribunal’s decision and their opinion that the poll was marred by severe errors that necessitated further examination or a rerun. The PDP had expected a different outcome when attempting to ensure election fairness.

He said, There were many pieces of evidence presented by the parties to nullify the election. It would have made sense for the courts to conclude that the election was invalid and order a new one to be held. But when the reputable judges asserted that the election was flawless from beginning to end, we were taken aback. The shock is still too much for us to process.

Fast forward to 2:23 minutes.
