Gbajabiamila Not Remote-Controlling Tinubu, President Knows Right From Wrong – Rep Memeber, Yusuf Gadgi
A member of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Gadgi, says it is not correct that Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff (CoS) to President Bola Tinubu, is remote-controlling his principal.
Gadgi, who represents Pankshin/Kanke/ Federal Constituency of Plateau State, made this known on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Tuesday.
Detractors of the CoS had criticised him for controlling the affairs of the administration but Gadgi said such criticism was not fair to Gbajabiamila, saying that nobody knows the things he has to endure in his new post.
Those who assert that the CoS is the “sole determinant” of the President’s actions, according to the lawmaker, underrate Tinubu’s skill and experience as a skilled politician who “came into office prepared.”
Channels TV report that, According to Gadgi, the President is aware of right from wrong and what is best for Nigerians.
“Looking at the political pedigree of Mr. President, to say that the Chief of Staff will be the sole determinant of his decisions, you are underrating and undermining the achievement of Mr. President, his political achievement in terms of being a Senator of the Federal Republic (of Nigeria), in terms of being a two-term governor in this country who survived teething problems as the governor of Lagos, and in terms of various other political achievements,” the lawmaker said.
“Therefore, you cannot look at some of us, like Yusuf Gadgi, and claim that everything is not right and that the Chief of Staff to the President is the one in charge of directing and coordinating Mr. President’s actions.
“I will tell you, ‘No,’ that is not the kind of President we have; we have a President who knows his left from his right, who knows his wrong from his right, who knows what is in the best interest of Nigerians, who came prepared, and who knows what he wants to accomplish. Furthermore, you cannot claim that he is being remotely controlled at this level.
