Sunny Moniedafe, a former APC National Chairmanship aspirant, has claimed that the Senate approved a ministerial nominee from the North who presented an SSCE certificate with only two credits. Regarding the El Rufai incident, he stated this in an interview with Channels TV. He contended that if the Senate could approve such a person, there was no way they could oppose Nasir El Rufai’s ministerial appointment.

”The Senate cannot do what the President does not agree to, adding that if the President decides he wants El Rufai, they will clear him. I’m not claiming they’re puppets, but someone from one of the northern states gave a certificate with only two credits and was cleared.
“The truth is that some of these people who should not have been cleared have been. If someone of that caliber had been nominated, screened, and approved, Then we need El Rufai to return and work together to make Nigeria great.”
