We must not succumb to their design – Peter Obi tells Obidients as he sets to approach Supreme court

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has called upon his supporters, fondly known as “Obidients,” to stand firm in the face of recent developments after losing his petition against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja.

Peter Obi and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, had jointly challenged the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja. However, their petitions were dismissed by the court last Wednesday. Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, has declared his intention to appeal the judgment at the country’s highest court.

Taking to his verified Twitter page today, Peter Obi expressed his determination in the face of adversity. He acknowledged the formidable challenges they faced but emphasized that these challenges were not insurmountable. He urged his supporters not to surrender to the pressure and design of the country’s leaders.

“We set out knowing fully well that the forces we are up against are entrenched and formidable but not insurmountable. They would resist the wind of change and try to push us into surrender or despair. We must not succumb to their design,” he said.

Peter Obi went on to highlight the progress they had made despite the odds and expressed his dedication to the cause of building a new Nigeria. He reassured his supporters that he would remain committed to rescuing Nigeria and emphasized the importance of staying resolute and principled in their pursuit.

“I am inspired that we have endured the odds placed in our way at every point. In such a short space of time, we have persevered to get to the point where we cannot be ignored any longer. Therefore, I urge you to abide and never think of giving up,” he concluded.
