Tinubu inaugurates committee on tax reforms

President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the presidential committee on fiscal policy and tax reforms.

On Tuesday, the State House in Abuja hosted the inauguration event.

The group was established by the president, according to a statement released on July 7 by Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy.

Alake claimed that Taiwo Oyedele, a Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, will preside over the group.

The committee, which consists of specialists from both the public and private sectors, will be in charge of designing and coordinating fiscal policy, coordinating tax reform efforts, and managing revenue.

The President is aware of the significance of a solid fiscal policy environment and an efficient taxation system for the operation of the government and the economy, according to Adelabu Adedeji, Special Adviser to the President on Revenue.

“It should be noted that this committee will not only advise the government on necessary reforms, but will also drive the implementation of such recommendations in support of the comprehensive fiscal policy and tax reform agenda of the current administration,” Adedeji continued.
