Reps deputy speaker urges Abia People to embrace Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

The deputy speaker of House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu has called for the revival of all moribund industries in Abia state and the rebuilding of Ariaria international market in Aba.

Kalu also asked the people of the state to key into the renewed hope agenda of the Tinubu government for the greater benefit of the state.

According to The Nation, In a statement by his chief press secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, on Sunday to mark the 32nd anniversary of the creation of the state, Kalu said that all hope of a better tomorrow is not lost.

Despite the many sociopolitical and economic difficulties they were facing, he exhorted all Abians to not give up hope for a better future.

On August 27, 1991, the former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, carved out a new state called Abia from the former Imo State.

The deputy speaker also urged them to support the government and carry out their civic responsibilities, while also exhorting them to hold the government responsible for all of its deeds and inactions in order to promote good governance.

He claimed that if Abia’s agricultural and economic potentials were fully realised, it could feed Nigeria.

The Nation report that, The deputy called for the reactivation of dormant industries in the State, particularly in Aba, while praising the steps taken so far in terms of infrastructure and other new government policies, which should include ensuring that the Ariaria international market, dubbed the “gold mine” of Abia State, operates effectively.

We can revive the Aba industries that made Abia famous, he asserted. A crucial factor is industrialization. To do this, we can take advantage of the federal policy favouring the use of gas-to-energy and the state’s accessibility to gas.

In order to further the state’s general development, the deputy speaker consequently requested that everyone work together.
