Photos: Newly Elected Representative Sent Out Of Chamber For Improper Dressing

A member who entered the chamber “improperly dressed” was escorted out on Wednesday, which caused a small amount of drama in the House of Representatives.

The member of parliament strolled into the chamber in a red t-shirt and brown trousers, looking unassuming because he is one of the recently elected members.

When the House was about to wrap up the day’s proceedings, the legislator entered and took a seat in the upper gallery of the temporary chamber.

Billy Osaweru, a member of the House, filed a point of order shortly after the legislator took his seat to call the Speaker’s attention to his unsuitable attire.

He claimed that the lawmaker’s attire was inappropriate for the House.

The member in question was escorted out of the chamber as soon as the Speaker was alerted to his improper attire.

According to the National Assembly rule, members can only wear a suit and tie or traditional attire with a cap to the parliament.
