The Appeals Court's Decision Was Twisted By Apapa's Team, But Abure Was Not Dismissed – LP Reveals

The Labour Party (LP) has denied allegations that Julius Abure and the rest of the party’s leadership have been removed by the Appeal Court. Instead, the LP claimed that the dismissal of Mr. Basil Maduka’s petition by the Court of Petition in Owerri, who it said was running for the Labour Party’s governorship nomination for Imo State, was yet another crushing blow for the Lamidi Apapa-led group.

The LP consequently urged party members, sympathizers, and the general public to keep their distance from what it called “falling and compromised members of the party,” who it said had since been ejected from the organization.

In a statement released by the LP’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, the party alleged that Apapa’s team had misled the people by altering the appellate court’s decision.

According to DAILY POST, there was uncertainty around Julius Abure’s purported dismissal as Labour Party National Chairman by the Court of Appeal in Owerri on Thursday. According to the statement, the court determined that the appeal was unnecessary because the trial court’s decision was in its favor and that the trial judge’s simple comments regarding the case were not a ruling and should therefore be disregarded.

Ifoh informed the court that Senator Athan Achonu had won the Labour Party’s primary elections and that the party had asked the Court of Appeal to reverse the statements made by the Federal High Court in Owerri.

He said, “It is, therefore, necessary to state that neither the Federal High Court Owerri nor the Court of Appeal Owerri, which was held in Abuja, made any orders in the case other than for lack of legal standing against the plaintiff (Basil Maduka).”
