The Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has said that the results of the 2023 elections revealed that Nigerians are tired of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Bakare, who contested at the 2022 presidential primary of the APC, said this on Sunday during a State of the Nation Broadcast, at the church at Ikeja, Lagos.

During his speech themed, ‘Vice, Virtue & Time: Three Things That Never Stand Still,’ the cleric and politician said the APC he joined to form had deted from the principles it was founded on.

The cleric said, “At this juncture, I must also sound a warning to the APC. I was there when the APC was formed and the extent of my involvement is well documented. As a stakeholder and more importantly as a nation builder, I’m more obligated to state without equivocation that this is not the APC we envisaged. The results of the last elections were clear indications that Nigerians are fed up with what the APC had become.”

He said the fact that the votes polled by the APC during the 2023 presidential election declined from what it had in 2015 and 2019, was an indication that there was a loss of support base for the party.

Several mothers were delivered of no fewer than 66 babies at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG convention ground over the weekend.

Adeboye announced this during the church’s 71st Annual Convention Friday Holy Ghost Service, tagged, “Beyond Expectations,” held from Friday night to Saturday morning at the church’s headquarters in Mowe, Ogun state.

According to him, they comprised 31 females and 31 males.

The Daddy GO also announced that next month’s Holy Ghost Service would be dedicated to those trusting God for the fruit of the womb.

He said, “I believe God that there will be a lot of twins, triplets and many more. God does not know how to do small things and does not stop when your cup of blessings is full.”

Meanwhile, Pastor Adeboye, has called on Christians, especially his church members, to pray against fresh wars, within and outside the country’s borders.

The cleric said the country was already fighting many “wars” such as kidnapping, terrorism and killings, adding that fresh ones should be prayed against.

During the prayer session, Adeboye said, “Surely, we don’t want more wars, we want to win the ones we are fighting, not fresh ones; whether outside or within our borders.

“Those of you who believe in peace in every section, should stand up and pray to say, ‘Father, have mercy on Nigeria because of those of us who are your children.

“I encourage you all to pray. God still answers prayers. Do not be discouraged because tomorrow will be alright. Do not be distracted. Nigeria still needs a lot of prayers.”

A former Chairman of the All Progressive Congress Caucus in Kaduna State, Alh. Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to replace former governor, Nasir El-Rufai with a ministerial nominee from Kaduna Central or Kaduna South for inclusiveness.

He stated this in an open letter to Tinubu obtained by The PUNCH on Sunday.

Ramalan appealed that the ministerial position should go to Zone 2 or Zone 3 where persons and politicians of high caliber are well placed to take such a position in view that both El-Rufai and Governor Uba Sani are from Zone 1.

Tijjani who is the Chairman of Liberty Radio and Television called on President Tinubu to look critically into the sharing of political positions in Kaduna State, noting the over-concentration of political offices in one zone is not auguring well for the APC in the State.

Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State was conspicuously absent when Bello, his eldest son, got married to his second wife, Aisha Habibu Shuaibu, on Saturday.

Daily Trust had reported how El-Rufai jetted out of the country after he pulled out of the ministerial race.

The senate had last week confirmed 45 out of the 48 ministerial nominees of President Bola Tinubu.

But El-Rufai and two other nominees – Stella Okotete (Delta) and Danladi Abubakar (Taraba) – were not confirmed as the senate said they were awaiting security clearance.

The former governor met with President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja, on Tuesday, after which he flew abroad, with sources saying he was off to Europe, but would be in Egypt first.

Bello, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Banking Regulations, had a private Nikah with the daughter of a former Military Administrator for Plateau and Niger States, Col. Habibu Shuaibu, in Abuja on Saturday.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna, whom Bello served as legislative aide when the governor was a senator, stood in as the father of the day.

In Hausa tradition, the Wakili (representative) of the groom’s father receives the bride at a wedding, while the waliyyi, representative of the bride’s family at a wedding, gives out the bride.
