Tribunal Wants To Have Atiku/PDP’s Appeal To Supreme Court Disqualified By Reason Of Time Deadline – Phank Shaibu

Since the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has yet to release the judgement that was delivered on Wednesday, Atiku’s Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu, has claimed that the Tribunal is trying to have Atiku and the PDP’s appeal to the Supreme Court disqualified. This would allow Atiku’s lawyers to challenge the case at the Supreme Court within the allotted 14 days.

Mr. Shaibu further questioned whether the Tribunal realised that Atiku and the PDP’s legal team needed time to review the judgement in the CTC, which contains the official pronouncements made in court on Wednesday, before submitting their case.

The statement includes the following: “We wish to remind the PEPC that it struck out the testimonies of some of the witnesses of Atiku during the litigation at the court of first instance because their statements on oath were filed out of time. Atiku and the PDP have filed an appeal with the Supreme Court, but that same court (the Tribunal) wants it thrown out since it was filed too late.

In addition, he made it clear that the Tribunal has no excuse for withholding the CTC’s judgement from Atiku, who is seeking substantial justice on behalf of Nigeria’s approximately 200 million citizens………………………..CONTINUE READING
