It’s worth recalling that, as per the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, emerged victorious in the presidential election, defeating formidable opponents such as Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party. Both Peter Obi and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidates of the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party respectively, contested Tinubu’s victory in the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja, but their petitions were dismissed by the court yesterday.

He emphasized that the loss in this case wasn’t solely borne by Peter Obi and the Labour Party but by the entirety of Nigeria and its citizens. Valentine Ozigbo cautioned against allowing such a skewed judgment to set a dangerous precedent and erode trust in the judiciary.
